Good question. I'd look into participating in some open-source software, making a public name and getting work based on that. Otherwise, by references it is difficult to get a job in NCR w/ telecommute option.

Prasoon, yes, NCR is tough in that aspect. However, I see no reason why telecommute should be region based. Isnt the entire idea of telecommute virtual? Personally, I feel there are some kinds of jobs which require one to one discussions, team interface and interactions with clients. Surely, thats not what I am hoping to work on. But a lot of other work can definitely be done remotely, work where the specs are more defined and finer details can be charted out over email and phone.
Anyways, some interesting ideas have been posted on JOS.
